The College of Law started academic activities in the 2009/2010 Academic Session, on the 4th of January, 2010 with the admission of 102 students. The composition of the students represented an intake of students from almost all the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Following the same trend, the second academic year of the University started on the 4th of October, 2010. About 111 students were offered admission into the College. Notwithstanding the mounting pressure for admission, the College was only able to offer admission to this number of candidates (which represents about 15 percent of the admission applications into the College) due to the quota restrictions on admissions into Nigerian law faculties by the Regulatory Authorities. However, in recognition of the College achievements, the Council of Legal Education has revised our admission quota upward to an unprecedented one hundred and eighty (180) at one session.
